FEDERAL GRANT ELIGIBILITY

"Beginning September 1, 2006, all VFD’s applying for grants which
involve federal funds will need to certify that they are “NIMS Compliant”.

The IS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS) and IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System, I-100 are required self-study training for every Firefighter, First Responder, EMS, Hospital Department Heads, Elected Officials, Police Officers, Sheriff Deputies, Constables, and Public Works Supervisors in Comanche County.

This includes:  Comanche County, City of Comanche, City of De Leon, and City of Gustine.  Also all firefighters in Comanche County.

Supervisors, Chiefs, and Department Heads:  please advise the Emergency Management office when your people finish the courses—and also provide a copy of the training certificates when received.


Certification Courses

The Emergency Service Training Institute (Texas Engineering Extension Service—Texas A&M System) offers many courses.  Some are available locally—or online.
